THE INFLUENCE OF DEFENCE INDUSTRY INTEREST GROUPS ON THE GEOPOLITICAL STRATEGY OF THE UNITED STATES IN THE XX–XXI CENTURY
Abstract
This article examines in detail the influence of groups of interests of the military-industrial complex on the geopolitical strategy of the United States in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The author analyses the functions of interest groups as agents of influence on state policy in the context of militarization processes, military conflicts, hostilities and information wars. The study examines the role of interest groups of the military-industrial complex in shaping the geopolitical strategy of the United States as a key player in international security, which affect the security of states and international stability. Interest groups are a necessary component of public policy, influencing the formulation and implementation of political decisions. Members of these groups, such as representatives of business, trade unions, civil society organizations and others, work together on common interests, which influences the adoption of laws and policy development. Interest groups play a key role in setting policy priorities, lobbying for their interests, and ensuring that their views are taken into account in decision-making. For example, business associations influence economic policy, while civil society organizations focus on the social aspects of legislation. These groups often act as intermediaries between government agencies and the public, contributing to the understanding and adoption of policy decisions. Through them, governments can communicate more effectively with different sectors of society. However, it should be remembered that interest groups can have a negative impact on public policy. Assessing the role of the military-industrial complex in modern conflicts is an extremely important task, as a detailed understanding of the mechanisms and consequences of such wars is key to developing effective strategies for ensuring national and international security. This analytical approach allows us to identify and counter potential threats, ensuring stability at various levels.
