THE STAFF OF EMPLOYEES OF NKDB-MDB OF DROHOBYCH, TRANSCARPATHIA, STANISLAV, CHERNIVTSI REGIONAL DEPARTMENTS OF THE USSR (ACCORDING TO STAFF ARRANGEMENTS OF PERSONNEL 1944, 1947, 1950)

Abstract

In the article, the calculations are made on the staff arrangement of the NKDB / MDB Personnel Department that allows forming a portrait of a typical security officer. Staff arrangement for 1947 and 1950 from Drohobych, Transcarpatia, Stanislav, and Chernivtsi regions was subject to analysis. At the same time, for the purpose of comparison, statistical calculations for 1944 from the staff rankings of Drohobych region are given. Age, nationality, education, party affiliation, time of coming to work in law enforcement agencies, ranks were analyzed. It was established that in 1944 – 1945 in the Drohobych UNKDB the vast majority of employees were young people, Russians by nationality, who had primary or incomplete secondary education, party reference (over 80%) and experience in law enforcement agencies up to 5 years, held the rank of sergeant, petty officers and junior officers. Against this background, there was a constant shortage of staff. Therefore, to solve the problem, the Central Committee of the CP(B)U periodically sent them to the western regions of Ukraine. It is estimated that in 1944 – 1945 in the Drohobych UNKGB the vast majority of employees were young people, Russians by nationality, who had primary or incomplete secondary education, party (over 80%) and experience in law enforcement agencies up to 5 years, held the rank of sergeant, officers and junior officers. At the same time, in 1947 – 1950 the staffing in the regions did not change significantly according to these indicators. The majority were young people under the age of 35, the ethnic staff began to differ slightly, although the majority were Russians, the educational level did not change – employees had primary or incomplete secondary education. The law enforcement agencies included individuals, most of whom had three years of party experience and more than three years of service in the security forces. At the same time, the vast majority of military ranks were sergeant, petty and junior officers.
