GALICIAN-DNIEPER DIFFERENCES IN THE EMIGRATION LITERARY AND HISTORICAL CONTEXT

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to consider the Galician-Dnieper differences - regional identities, the beginnings of the discovery of which date back to the times of the Ukrainian Revolution with their further understanding in emigration literature and sources of personal origin. The research methodology is based on the general historical principles of certainty, concreteness, knowability, causality with the involvement of narrow historical methods, such as reading into the text (research reflections on the circumstances and conditions under which this or that information is presented in the text); research transliteration of the thoughts and words of the authors of the texts (research concern, empathy and sympathy); comparison or selection by the researcher of excerpts of texts relevant to the topic, which are structured according to "facts", "contexts", "subjective significance" for the analysis of the received formalized material from the point of view of the repeatability of information. The scientific novelty lies in the updating of the publications of Yuriy Lypa, Fotii Meleshko, Ivan Kedryn Rudnytskyi, which substantiate the regional identification of the UNR (people of the Dnieper region) and the ZUNR (people of Galychyna) as cultural, historical and socio-economic factors. Conclusions. The Galician-Dnieper differences were illustrated by the considerations of Yuriy Lypa, Fotii Meleshko, Ivan Kedryn Rudnytskyi, as participants in the National Liberation Struggles of 1917–1921 and the modern researcher of Galician identity Vasyl Rasevych. In the context of constructing the past for a specific opportunistic project, the factor of the historical disintegration of the “single body” of the Ukrainian nation was predominant in the Galician-Dnieper differences. It was it that vividly recorded the cultural, linguistic, confessional, psychological differences that complicated the formation of national identity at a common pace and with the same power, and which, unfortunately, "exist" today. In the context of a selective approach to constructing the past in the Galician-Dnieper contradictions national (ethnographic) identity prevails. And the consideration of these differences through historical stereotypes and clichés "determined" the public's attitude to the territorial structure of Ukraine, both directly during the time of the Ukrainian Revolution and in our time in the realities of the Russian-Ukrainian war
