THE ROLE OF STATE AUTHORITIES IN THE FORMATION OF SPIRITUAL, MORAL, AND PATRIOTIC VALUES AMONG YOUTH

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the role of state authorities in shaping the spiritual, moral, and patriotic values of youth in the context of contemporary social transformations, global challenges, and socio-political changes. It analyzes how state youth policy, legal frameworks, and practical initiatives influence the development of national consciousness, civic responsibility, and active participation of the younger generation in public life. It has been established that during periods of socio-political upheavals, armed conflicts, and threats to national security, the importance of patriotic and spiritual-moral orientations among young people significantly increases. In this context, their purposeful formation becomes one of the most important tasks of state youth policy, as stable values determine social stability, an active civic position, and the long-term development of the state. The article reveals the main manifestations of patriotism as a state value among youth, including love for the homeland, respect for historical heritage, the formation of national consciousness, civic responsibility, and a respectful attitude toward the state language. It is noted that love for the homeland implies a conscious belonging of an individual to the state, acceptance of the full set of rights, freedoms, and responsibilities, as well as a readiness to act in the interests of society and the state. It is shown that patriotism is a socio-historical phenomenon, the content and forms of which change depending on historical conditions, social challenges, and the interests of social groups. Patriotism as a socio-psychological feeling encompasses a wide range of expressions - from pride in the achievements of the state, respect for historical memory, and preservation of national and cultural traditions, to deep concern for the fate of the country during periods of crisis and loss. The article also emphasizes that engagement with historical heritage helps young people understand their own identity, form an awareness of their place in society, and develop responsibility for the future of the state. Familiarity with national history, culture, and traditions allows young people to recognize the achievements and mistakes of previous generations, understand the significance of state values, and develop an active civic stance that contributes to the preservation and development of society.
